Teach In wins Education Investor Award for Recruitment Services

Teach In recognised as best Recruitment Supplier 2017/18 with a win at the Education Investor Awards.

Teach In are delighted to announce their win at the 2017 Education Investor Awards for Recruitment Services. In a ceremony held at the Hilton Park Lane on the 5th December, Teach In beat several industry leaders in the Recruitment Services category to take home the coveted prize.

Throughout 2017, government data continued to reveal a worrying trend of less and less teachers entering the profession. Teach In were proud to be recognised by the Education Investor Awards panel as working towards reversing that trend with their unique teacher training programme, Teach In Qualified (TIQ).

Teach In Qualified (TIQ) is a two year programme that enables graduates to obtain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) whilst working in schools. Developed by a leading and well-respected SCITT (school-centred initial teacher training) provider, this bespoke programme has been successful in attracting exceptional graduates to the teaching profession. The programme offers the graduates the opportunity to obtain paid work in schools, whilst training towards QTS status, at no cost to them. As a result, many of the current TIQ cohorts are on course to become outstanding and robust teachers whose training has prepared them for longevity in the profession.

The Education Investor Awards judges praised Teach In for its “unique and creative solution to initial teacher training”. “Teach In’s proposition,” they said “resonated with schools and graduates alike, by providing a cost-effective and efficient way of hiring, training and retaining graduates into the teaching profession”. Teach In was also commended for its “focus on improving recruitment and retention rates in inner city areas”.

Teach In is distinct from other education recruitment businesses in that their goal is to improve recruitment and retention rates for schools in inner-city areas with their creative approach to permanent recruitment.

Simon Adams, Director at Teach In commented on the win; “We are delighted that our efforts to play a part in school improvement by providing a long-term solution to teacher recruitment retention has been recognised by Education Investor. It was a competitive category, but in a market where teachers are scarce, we are proud to be concentrating on creating teachers of the future.”

Aside from the TIQ programme, Teach In continues to support inner-city schools to recruit the best permanent teaching staff. They hope to introduce hundreds of trainee teachers to schools that will employ and support them through their NQT year.
